Meet the Metzgers

Kyle and Sharon Metzger are the owners and operators of Bear & Beak Bakery. They live in Huntington, Indiana with their two kids, Oliver and Elsie, and pup, Marshall.

​

Both Kyle and Sharon started baking as children with their moms, so family has always been a part of what makes creating baked goods special. In 2019, Sharon's mom passed away. She had always made birthday cakes for their oldest son, Oliver, so Sharon stepped into this role after her passing. Through cake decorating, Sharon found a creative outlet and a way to work through her grief. During covid, Kyle took his extra time at home to begin perfecting his hobby of bread-making. In the beginning of 2021, Sharon and Kyle took a leap of faith to leave their jobs as nonprofit executives and open a storefront bakery. They wanted the bakery name to reflect their family, so they used their children's first nicknames (Bear and Duck) to create the name Bear & Beak Bakery.

 

The Metzgers love the  community of Huntington and the people living here. They always want to do their part to make Huntington an amazing place to live and grow.
